Biffy Clyro have assured fans that they will release a new album in 2011.

The group expect to start work on the follow-up to 2009's 'Only Revolutions' at Christmas following the completion of their current tour schedule.

Bass player James Johnston told the Daily Record there was “pressure” on the band ahead of their next effort.

But he added: "We are eager, we are excited but we understand you only get one chance to make a record and we don't want to mess it up, we won't rush it then forever regret it.”

'Only Revolutions' is among the nominations for this year's Mercury Prize.

Meanwhile, Biffy Clyro released an 18-track B-sides compilation, entitled 'Lonely Revolutions', this week.
