Editors showcased songs from their forthcoming third album during an intimate gig in London tonight (September 16). The Birmingham band, who release 'In This Light And On This Evening' next month, wowed fans at Fabric in Farringdon. 
Jon Bon Jovi has spoken out about Kurt Cobain's character use in Guitar Hero 5 saying he can understand why the late-legend's Nirvana band mates are angry. As well as the two Nirvana songs on the game, the Kurt Cobain facsimile can play along to any other song on the game – including Bon Jovi's 'You Give Love A Bad Name'. 
Madonna and Janet Jackson, the sister of Michael, have discussed working together, its been reported. The pair are said to have met over dinner at Butter in New York shortly before the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. 
Jay-Z has ruled making a move into politics, saying he would say too many “inappropriate things”. The rapper has been approached about the possibility of a political career since he developed a close alliance with US President Barack Obama. 
Babyshambles have announced details of their first UK tour of 2009. The band, fronted by Pete Doherty, begin the seven-date jaunt in Sheffield on December 10. 
Billy Corgan has announced details of a new Smashing Pumpkins album set to be released for free. The album will be called 'Teargarden By Kaleidyscope' with a monster 44 tracks all to be released one at a time. 
Pavement have confirmed that they are to reform in 2010 for a series of shows around the world. The band, who have been widely rumoured to get back together, will consist of Mark Ibold, Scott Kannberg, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West. 
Iggy & The Stooges are to perform their third and final album 'Raw Power' in its entirety at two London gigs next May. The band will be joined at the shows by guitarist James Williamson, who has not played with the Stooges for over 35 years. 
Songs by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and Bon Iver are expected to appear on the soundtrack to The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The full tracklisting for the album, which is due to be released in November, will be announced tomorrow (September 18).
