US rapper DMX has been jailed for 90 days and placed on a minimum of 18-months supervised probation. The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, pleaded guilty last month as part of a deal to settle three cases. 
US rapper Lil’ Wayne has settled a copyright infringement lawsuit with The Rolling Stones’ publishing company, Abcko. The undisclosed settlement related to alleged similarities between the rapper’s recent hit ‘Playing With Fire’ and the band’s 1965 song ‘Play With Fire’. 
Lily Allen has topped the UK singles chart with her new song, 'The Fear'. The singer, who releases her new album next week, replaced Lady GaGa, who fell one place to number two. 
The first meeting of the Featured Artists' Coalition, whose members include Coldplay and Robbie Williams, has been cancelled in the wake of heavy snow fall in London. Williams and members of Coldplay, Blur and Radiohead had been expected to attend the event today (February 2nd). 
Bruce Springsteen has admitted that it was a “mistake” to exclusively release his new album, 'Working On A Dream', with the American retailer Wal-Mart. The deal with the company, which restricted the album's distribution in the US, was criticised by fans. 
Lily Allen enjoyed a snowball fight with paparazzi as she left TV studios in London this morning (February 2nd). The singer scored a direct hit with one photographer's camera lens following an appearance on GMTV, where she performed her UK number one single 'The Fear'. 
Take That singer Gary Barlow has been named the greatest British songwriter of all time. Barlow topped a poll ahead of former Beatles stars John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney, who were second and third respectively. 
Bloc Party have announced details of a huge UK tour, which will begin in Blackpool on October 2nd. The BLOCtober tour will also see the band perform in Birmingham, Bristol and Brighton. 
Jennifer Hudson was advised to use a backing track for her performance of the American National Anthem at the Super Bowl last night (February 1st). Rickey Minor, who produces the pre-game show, said he told both Hudson and fellow performer Faith Hill to use pre-recorded tracks submitted a week before the show. 
An unfinished video for U2's forthcoming single 'Get On Your Boots' leaked online over the weekend. The footage, which has already been removed, showed the band posing in front of different images on a green screen. 
Elbow's record performance at the Abbey Road studios in London is to be released on a CD and DVD package. The limited edition package includes the band's set on both formats and an album booklet containing exclusive pictures.
