The Beastie Boys have entered the studio to start work on the follow up to 2007’s ‘The Mix Up’. The hip hop trio are currently holed up in their Oscilloscope Studios in lower Manhattan but they’re not giving much away about the new material. 
Belgium’s finest export dEUS have teamed up with Elbow’s Guy Garvey and Karin Dreijer from The Knife for their new album ‘Vantage Point.’ 
Chris Martin says that Coldplay’s impending new album, due out this May, is so different to their first three that he’s fully aware “everyone might not like it.” 
Thom Yorke has revealed that Radiohead didn’t play Glastonbury this year because of the lack of a local transport infrastructure around the festival site. The frontman announced the decision while promoting the Big Ask Europe campaign in Brussels yesterday. 
Pete Doherty has been confirmed as a headliner on The Park stage at Glastonbury. The Park stage was the brainchild of Michael Eavis’ daughter Emily and had its inaugural year in 2007. Pete played on the stage last year in an unannounced show. 
Boy George has pleaded not guilty to falsely imprisoning a male escort in his home in East London. Audun Carlsen claims that the former Culture Club star, whose real name is George O’Dowd, chained him to a wall and assaulted him during the incident last April. 
Los Angeles police have confirmed that they are looking into allegations that Britney Spears was drugged without her knowing. Police Captain Kyle Jackson said that no suspect has been identified and that they were yet to launch a formal investigation into the allegations. 
Keith Richards has took a cheeky swipe at Led Zeppelin over their reunion gig last year. When asked about the return of the band by Uncut the guitarist said he didn’t even realise they had. 
Buddy Miles, Jimi Hendrix’s former drummer, has died at the age of 60 in Austin, Texas. After co-founding Electric Flag, Miles contributed drums to Hendrix’s landmark 1968 album ‘Electric Ladyland’ before founding Band of Gypsys with Billy Cox and Hendrix some months later. 
The Black Crowes have rejected Maxim’s apology of the review of their new album ‘Warpaint’ printed by the magazine. As previously reported Maxim ran a review of the record having only heard one song from it, the single ‘Goodbye Daughters Of The Revolution’.
