Eminem has gone straight in at number one on the UK album chart with his new album ‘Recovery’.

The rapper’s follow-up to 2009’s ‘Relapse’ topped the countdown, becoming his sixth number one UK album.

Example’s debut album ‘Won’t Go Quietly’ was a new entry at number four, while Miley Cyrus’s ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ arrived at number eight.

In the singles chart, Katy Perry topped the chart with ‘California Gurls’, which features Snoop Dogg, according to the Official Charts Company.

The track, taken from Perry’s new album ‘Teenage Dreams’, is her second number one, according to the Official Charts Company.

The only other new entry inside the top-10 was Eminem’s ‘I Love The Way You Lie’, featuring Rihanna, at number seven.
