June 8, 2010
Isley Brothers Bassist Marvin Isley Dies Aged 56Isley Brothers bassist Marvin Isley has died at the age of 56.

Isley, who was the band’s youngest member, passed away on Sunday (June 6) at a hospital near his Chicago home.

No details about a cause death have been confirmed.

Isley joined his brothers' band in 1973, and featured on hits including ‘Shout’ and ‘Summer Breeze’.

He left to form the splinter group Isley-Jasper-Isley in the 1980s, but returned to the Isley Brothers the following decade.

The bassist stopped performing in 1996 due to complications from diabetes, which included the loss of his legs.

He is survived by his wife and three children.
