The Who To Play 'Quadrophenia' At Teenage Cancer Trust GigFebruary 3, 2010
The Who will perform their acclaimed double album 'Quadrophenia' at their concert for the Teenage Cancer Trust next month.
Originally released in 1973, the album tells of social and musical happenings from a teenage perspective. The gig, at the Royal Albert Hall on March 30, will conclude ten days of concerts in aid of the charity. The Who's frontman Roger Daltrey, who is a patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust, said: “When The Who first got together in 2000 to raise money for this brilliant charity, I had no idea we’d achieve so much from these shows. “In the last ten years we’ve raised over £8.7 million, helping Teenage Cancer Trust to open nine more specialist cancer units for young people across the UK.” The Teenage Cancert Trust gig series will also feature shows from Depeche Mode and Them Crooked Vultures. Noel Gallager will also perform for the first time since quitting Oasis last summer. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Roger Daltrey Announces 'Tommy' UK Tour (27.04.2011)
