Sonic Youth Call The BNP 'F*cking Clowns'October 26, 2009
Sonic Youth attacked the BNP at a gig in London over the weekend.
Taking to the stage at London's Forum singer/guitarist Thurston Moore said, “Thanks for standing up to the BNF goons” before adding “Fucking clowns...” Moore was commenting on the British National Party and their leader Nick Griffin's appearance on BBC1's Question Time. Griffin was heavily criticised during the programme for his parties right wing leanings. Despite some technical difficulties involving Thurston Moore's amplifier Sonic Youth continued to pull off a successful show. The set list focused mainly on this years album 'The Eternal' but also featured 'Cross The Breeze' from the 1988 album 'Daydream Nation'.
