Bob Dylan Scores First UK Number One In Four DecadesMay 5, 2009
Bob Dylan has scored his first UK number one album in almost four decades with 'Together Through Life'.
The legendary singer-songwriter last topped the album chart in 1970 with 'New Morning' making it 39 years between number ones. His seventh number one also claimed a UK chart record, for the longest gap between solo number one albums – a record previously held by Tom Jones. Elsewhere in the album chart The Enemy entered at number two with second long-player 'Music For The People', while the previous chart topper, Lady GaGa's 'The Fame', slipped to three. Tinchy Stryder's aptly named 'Number 1' retained its position at number one in the singles chart, with La Roux's 'In For The Kill' remaining at two.
