Bruce Springsteen Works His Way To US Chart Summit

February 4, 2009
Bruce Springsteen Works His Way To US Chart SummitBruce Springsteen has gone straight in at number one on the US Billboard album chart with 'Working On A Dream'.

The album, Springsteen's ninth chart topper, sold 224,000 copies in its opening sales week.

His latest number one means Springsteen is now tied with The Rolling Stones for the third most number one albums in the US, with nine.

The Beatles boast the most, nineteen, while Elvis Presley and rapper Jay-Z have both had ten each.

Elsewhere on the chart, last week's number one Taylor Swift fell to number two with 'Fearless', while Beyonce also fell one place to number three with 'I Am...Sasha Fierce'.

The rest of the top-5 was completed by Nickelback's 'Roadrunner' and '808s and Heartbreak' by Kanye West at four and five respectively.

Springsteen's latest chart success comes just days after he rocked the half-time show at this year's Super Bowl final in Florida.
