Paul McCartney Asks Aerosmith's Steven Tyler To Cover The BeatlesDecember 3, 2010
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has revealed that Sir Paul McCartney has asked him to cover a host of Beatles hits.
Sir Paul has requested that Tyler re-imagines the final four songs from 1969’s ‘Abbey Road’ for the Kennedy Centre Honors this weekend. The former Beatle is due to receive the prestigious award at a ceremony in Washington. The Aerosmith star revealed details about the collaboration during an interview with US radio station 95.9 WATD-FM, reports Consequence Of Sound. I also got called up by Sir Paul McCartney and he asked me to sing the last four songs of ‘Abbey Road’, so I said 'Umm ok,' doing it. “So I'm headed down to the Kennedy honors in Washington." The annual award recognises arts figures who contribute to US culture and has previously been received by Bob Dylan.
