Velvet Revolver's Slash Attacks Emo MusicMarch 31, 2008
Velvet Revolver’s guitarist Slash has attacked Emo bands - saying that he hates the much publicised genre.
In an interview with the Daily Star, Slash said it was sad that that were “no identifiable guitar players in rock ’n’ roll any more.” “With the exception of Jack White – who is great – the new breed of bands aren’t bringing out decent guitarists,” he said. “Rock ’n’ roll is so diluted in this millennium, you just don’t hear good solos. And I hate Emo.” Despite his distain for current rock bands, the guitarist did single out Muse as a band he admires. “I did a gig with Muse recently and those guys can really play,” he said. “It’s not really what I’d call proper rock ’n’ roll, but they do something pretty special.” (by Jason Gregory) See also: Velvet Revolver Find Replacement For Scott Weiland (21.12.2010)
