We Are Scientists Release England World Cup Song

June 9, 2010
We Are Scientists Release England World Cup SongWe Are Scientists have released an unofficial England World Cup song.

The US band originally recorded ‘Goal! England’ for Radio 1, but following calls from fans they have now re-recorded an extended version.

Bassist Chris Cain said: "People ask why we didn't record a football anthem for America."

"When you want to give your girlfriend a great gift, you give her something you know she wants, not something you want."

"We've never been huge football guys, but we're pretty big England guys, and we know her well enough to know she loves her a football anthem."

"So we made her one."

The track, which also features ex-Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows, is available to download now from www.goalengland.co.uk.
