R.E.M's Michael Stipe Used Apple iPhone To Record 'Collapse Into Now'March 23, 2011
R.E.M's Michael Stipe has revealed that he used his iPhone to record the band's new album.
'Collapse Into Now', released on March 7, features a number of collaborations including Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Patti Smith and Peaches. "My notepad is my iPhone, and in fact I recorded and wrote this entire record [Collapse Into Now] on my phone," Stipe told Absolute Radio. He added: "I love technology for that, it's so much easier than having scraps of paper everywhere. Of course I write lyrics that I hope would someday see the light of day, more times than not that never happens." Meanwhile, R.E.M's classic hit 'Everybody Hurts' has been named the song most likely to make men cry, a new survey revealed.
