Susan Boyle Beats Lady Gaga To Best Selling Album In The UK Title

Susan Boyle's 'I Dreamed A Dream' is officially the biggest selling album of the year in the UK after just four weeks of release.

The Britain's Got Talent star's album has notched up sales of 1.4million in Britain alone since it was released on November 23, according to the Official Charts Company.

Lady Gaga's 'The Fame' is in second place, although this has been on the chart for 49 weeks.

Martin Talbot, managing director, Official Charts Company, said: "In just four weeks, Susan Boyle has become the biggest album artist in the UK by some margin - an extraordinary achievement for an artist who was totally unknown until last April.

“She has clearly connected with a massive proportion of the British population and is now looking solidly in place to take the title of the biggest album of the year."
