Beatles' John Lennon's Abbey Road Suit Triggers LawsuitJanuary 18, 2011
The recently auctioned John Lennon suit has been caught up in a lawsuit, it has been reported.
The white suit, worn by John Lennon on The Beatles' album 'Abbey Road', was auctioned off at a recent US auction for 46,000 dollars. Now the seller's former landlord Mark Arrow has sued the auction gallery to get the money to pay off outstanding rent debt, the Associated Press reports. Braswell Galleries, who auctioned off the suit, were told that owner Biond Fury owed more than 21,000 dollars in rent to his former landlord Arrow. "Arrow had been unable to collect the rent debt from Fury, but the prospects brightened when he learned of the coming auction from a newspaper report last month," said Arrow lawyer Adam Leitman Bailey.
