Phoenix, The Fall, Caribou Triumph At Field DayAugust 2, 2010
Phoenix headlined a succesful Field Day on Saturday (July 31), rounding off a day that also saw performances from the likes of Caribou, These New Puritans and Simian Mobile Disco.
The festival, which has had various technical problems in the past, passed without incident with the music being the true focus of the day. Steve Mason and Holly Miranda started things off with their individual sets of gentle solo material before a 90 minute DJ set from Simian Mobile Disco got a mid-afternoon crowd dancing. Throughout the day there were performances from LA punks No Age, Manchester legends The Fall and a raft of hotly tipped new acts such as Yuck, Gold Panda, Mount Kimbie and Joker. Phoenix finished the day off in style however running through a greatest hits set including 'Listozmania' and 'Long Distance Call' before finishing with '1901'.
