Franz Ferdinand, Chew Lips Perform At BBC 6 Music Celebration

June 2, 2010
Franz Ferdinand, Chew Lips Perform At BBC 6 Music CelebrationFranz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos and Nick McCarthy performed two songs in celebration of BBC 6 Music at a gig in London last night (June 1).

The concert, at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, was held to mark singer and broadcaster Tom Robinson’s 60th birthday.

Robinson is one of the few broadcasters who have presented programmes on all the BBC’s radio networks, and helped launch 6 Music in 2002.

The digital station was recently outlined for closure by the BBC as part of budget cuts.

The Cribs’ Ryan Jarman, Chew Lips and Eugene McGuinness also performed at the concert.

6 Music DJs Sean Keaveney and Steve Lamacq also attended the event.
