Thom Yorke, Mark Ronson, David Cameron Record Charity SongOctober 18, 2010
Radiohead's Thom Yorke and producer Mark Ronson are among the acts who appear on a new charity single for the Royal British Legion.
The track, entitled '2 Minute Silence', also features Prime Minister David Cameron. It is due to be released via iTunes on November 7, priced 99p, with proceeds going towards helping individual within the Serving and ex-Service Armed Forces community. The Royal British Legion's Director General Chris Simpkins said: "Rather than record a song, we felt the UK public would recognise the poignancy of silence and its clear association with remembrance.” The Royal British Legion is the nation's leading Armed Forces charity, and provides care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces past and present and their families. It is best known for the annual Poppy Appeal. For more details, check out the Poppy Appeal Facebook page. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Radiohead Record Store Day Release Leaks Online (14.04.2011)
