Radiohead's Management 'Encouraged Them To Split Before In Rainbows'May 5, 2009
Radiohead's management have revealed that they advised the band to split up before the release of 'In Rainbows'.
Reports suggest that Courtyard Management felt the band were heading down a dead end while recording the album, unable to achieve the sound they were hoping for in the studio despite having finished writing all the tracks. The Irish Times reports that Courtyard felt “it was time to call it a day” before the seminal record had even seen the light of day. Brian Message of Courtyard told the paper: “I've been lucky to work with some great artists and Radiohead are a once in a generation act. “But you have to be honest if it's not working. You have to have passion about what you do. I'm an accountant but I love music and I'm passionate about the artists I work with." Thankfully, in the end the band did not split and 'In Rainbows' went on to be one of their most successful records to date.
