Radiohead Write Brand New Material For Film ScoreAugust 12, 2008
A number of new Radiohead songs will feature on the soundtrack to the forthcoming movie Choke.
The film, which is an adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's novel of the same name, has been directed by Clark Gregg. Speaking to BBC 6Music, Palahniuk revealed that Radiohead had become involved in the film after they found out that he had written the book while listening to their debut album 'Pablo Honey'. Although they initially just wrote a track for the final credits, Palahniuk said that Radiohead's contribution can now be heard throughout the film. “Apparently Radiohead liked the movie so much, they’ve written the score, most of the ambient music throughout it. So it’s ‘Choke – with the music of Radiohead’,” he said. When asked if he was honoured that the band worked on the film, Palahniuk said: “I quit believing in my own life at this point. My life is just too incredible to be believable anymore. It’s a living dream.” (by Jason Gregory) See also: Radiohead Record Store Day Release Leaks Online (14.04.2011)
