Sir Paul McCartney Praises Linda During BRITs PerformanceFebruary 21, 2008
Sir Paul McCartney dedicated his performance at the BRIT Awards last night (February 21st) to his first wife, Linda.
McCartney was given a standing ovation following his 15 minute performance which included the songs ‘Live And Let Die’ and the Beatles hit, ‘Hey Jude’. The singer was given the Outstanding Contribution award at the ceremony - which took place at London’s Earls Court. McCartney made no reference during the performance to his estranged wife Heather Mills, only to say: “I need to get back to what I do best — and that is what I’m going to do.” A divorce hearing between the two closed on Monday when a high court judge reserved judgement. It will now be left to the judge to decide how much of McCartney’s estimated Ј825 million fortune Ms Mills will receive in the settlement. Linda McCartney passed away ten years ago following a battle with cancer. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Paul McCartney To Release Two New Albums In June (27.04.2011)
