Paul McCartney Closes Isle Of Wight Festival 2010June 14, 2010
Sir Paul McCartney closed the Isle of Wight festival last night (June 13) with a career spanning headline slot.
The former Beatle brought to an end three days of live music at Seaclose Park, including The Strokes and Jay-Z. More than 55,000 people watched on as Sir Paul played songs by The Beatles, as well as his solo back-catalogue. The singer also used his set to pay tribute to the late Jimi Hendrix, who performed at the event exactly 40 years ago. This year’s festival also featured performances from Blondie, Editors, Florence & The Machine, La Roux, Orbital, Pink and Spandau Ballet.
