The Horrors Speak About Gorillaz Collaboration With Damon AlbarnDecember 11, 2009
The Horrors have spoken about their collaboration with Gorillaz, which is expected to feature on the cartoon band's next album.
The group recorded a track with Gorillaz creator Damon Albarn after he worked on The Horrors' last single, 'Whole New Way'. Bassist Rhys Webb told BBC 6 Music he had yet to hear the song but was confident it would make the final cut. "I don’t even know what the name of the track is," he said. "Faris [Badwan] wrote the lyrics and went back and worked with Damon on his own, so I haven’t actually heard the end result yet. "But that was the cool thing about it. It was such a relaxed environment of people sharing ideas.” Webb added: "I don’t feel I should really talk about that because it’s his record, but fingers crossed it will be on that early 2010 I think." As previously reported, Albarn has also worked with rapper Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed and Barry Gibb on songs for Gorillaz next record. Entitled 'Plastic Beach', the album will also feature Bobby Womack and Mos Def. (by Jason Gregory) See also: The Horrors Announce UK Tour (22.03.2011)
