September 28, 2009
Madonna Beats Muse and Dizzee Rascal to Number One'Celebration', Madonna's Greatest Hits collection, entered the album chart in the top spot yesterday giving her the record for the most number ones by a solo artist.

The album is Madonna's eleventh number one album putting her on level pegging with Elvis Presley, only The Beatles now have more number one albums than Madonna with fifteen.

'Celebration' beat off strong competition from Muse whose album 'The Resistance' dropped one place to number two whilst Dizzee Rascal had the highest chart position of his career with 'Tongue 'N' Cheek' entering at three.

Elsewhere there were new entries from Mika at number five, Cliff Richard and The Shadows at six and Pearl Jam's 'Backspacer' entered at number nine.
