Laura Marling, The Wanted Backed To Win BRIT Awards 2011January 17, 2011
Bookmakers have received a flurry of bets on Laura Marling to win Best British Female at the BRIT Awards next month.
The singer's odd have been cut from 5/2 to 7/4 to take the prize behind last year's Critic' Choice winner Ellie Goulding. Bookies William Hill also said they have received a string of three figure bets for The Wanted to win Best British Single. The band are now 2/1 favourite to win the prize, while Mumford & Sons are 4/6 favourites to scoop Best British Album ahead of Take That and Plan B. As previously reported, Tinie Tempah leads the way in the nominations for this year’s BRIT Awards, with four nods. The ceremony takes place at London’s O2 Arena on February 15. It will be hosted by James Corden. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Laura Marling Announces Winter UK Tour (21.09.2010)
