The Muppets' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' To Battle X Factor Winner For Christmas No.1December 8, 2009
Walt Disney records are to release The Muppets' version of Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' next week.
The video for the song has already amassed 10million views on Youtube and looks certain to be a contender for Christmas number one – competing against the all-conquering X Factor. The single is released digitally next week. Bookmakers Paddy Power said of the Christmas race for the top spot: “We’ve taken more bets on the Muppets to be Christmas No. 1 than anyone else so far, but with zillions of views already on YouTube it’s no surprise the punters are getting stuck in. “Imagine, the mighty X Factor toppled by the Muppets! It’s great to have a competitive Christmas no. 1 race again!” A Facebook group has already been set up called 'The Muppets ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for Christmas Number 1'. Last week a Facebook group was set up to get Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name Of' to Chrimbo number one too in attempt to thwart Simon Cowell's TV show.
