Klaxons Won't Play Any Festivals In 2008March 7, 2008
Klaxons will not play any festivals in 2008 in order to concentrate on recording their second album, keyboardist James Righton has revealed.
Speaking to 6 Music, Righton said that despite a one-off event in Brazil they were concerned about playing any. "We're doing one in Brazil, apart from that, literally, we're just going to spend the time writing and recording,” he said. “From now until October we're just going to be writing and recording the album." He added that the group were determined to spend time on their second record in order to make the perfect follow-up to their Mercury Music Prize winning debut, ‘Myths Of The Near Future’. "I think a lot of bands can give themselves two or three weeks to write and record an album, but we want to do a bit of recording, have a bit of a break, come back to it, be a bit more objective about it, and then start again,” he explained.
