Kings Of Leon: 'Glastonbury Was Career Defining Moment'August 15, 2008
Kings of Leon have hailed their headlining appearance at this years Glastonbury Festival as their career defining moment.
Speaking to the BBC, drummer Nathan Followill said the band were honoured to join fellow musicians who had filled the Friday slot on the Pyramid Stage. “That’s pretty cool to see the company you’re keeping – especially when we really don’t consider ourselves a big band, not an arena band or a stadium band,” he said. Since the release of their 2007 album 'Because of the Times', Kings of Leon have found themselves filling arenas and festival sites all over the world. But Followill insisted that they wouldn't stage their setup to accommodate the bigger stages. “The stages get bigger but we always stay the same distance apart from each other. Especially at Glastonbury, the stage is so huge and other bands take full advantage and fill up every inch that they can - but we all like to stay in our little bubble, our little comfort zone,” he said.
