Kanye West, Lil' Wayne, Celine Dion Record Charity Single For HaitiFebruary 2, 2010
Kanye West and Lil' Wayne are among the stars who have teamed up on a remake of 'We Are The World' for the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.
The song, recorded in Los Angeles on Monday, also features Celine Dion, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, Brian Wilson and Tony Bennett. Due to be debuted on US TV on February 12, the charity single has been organised by the song's original author, Lionel Richie. Lil' Wayne, who has friends who lost relatives in last month's earthquake, said it was “amazing” to be involved in the relief effort. But he admitted: “I don't know how to sing." 'We Are The World' was originally released in 1985 to help raise money for famine relief in Africa. It is the latest song to be released in aid of the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Jay-Z, Rihanna and Bono have already released 'Stranded', while Simon Cowell's all-star remake of 'Everybody Hurts' by R.E.M. made its radio debut today.
