Carl Barat Given Fatherhood Advice From Libertines Bandmate

October 7, 2010
Carl Barat Given Fatherhood Advice From Libertines BandmateCarl Barat has received fatherhood advice from Libertines bandmate John Hassall.

The singer, who is expecting his first child with girlfriend Edie in December, said the bassist first promised to offer him tips when the band reunited earlier this year.

"From the very start of rehearsals until we parted ways after the gig, John was like 'I want to talk to you about a few things about fatherhood because I've just done it and can impart a bit of wisdom'," he told the BBC.

"We never got the chance and then, as I was getting into a taxi, he grabbed me and said: 'Oh yeah, about fatherhood... just chill out about everything.'"

Barat joked that Hassall's simple advice was “him all over really”.

The singer released his self-titled debut album this week.
