Lennon Film To Be Premiered At London Film FestivalAugust 5, 2009
Nowhere Boy, the biopic which tells the story of the early years of John Lennon's life, is set to be premièred at this year's London Film Festival, organisers have confirmed.
The film marks director Sam Taylor-Wood's first foray into the film making and centres around the events of Lennon's childhood growing up in 1950s Liverpool. It also shed light on his relationship with his mother and aunt. Starring relative unknowns Aaron Johnson as Lennon and Thomas Sansgter as McCartney, Nowhere Boy is based on a book by Lennon half-sister Julia Baird that chronicled life growing up with the Beatle. The festival runs from 14-19 October, with a nationwide release for the film on December 26. (by Andrew Almond) See also: Yoko Ono: John Lennon Would Have Loved Lady Gaga (28.12.2010)
