Unpublished John Lennon Lyrics Go On Display In LiverpoolJuly 24, 2009
Previously unpublished song lyrics by John Lennon have gone on exhibition for the very first time in Liverpool.
The rarely seen lyrics are from Julian Lennon's private collection and will now augment the Beatles Story exhibition 'White Feather: The Spirit of Lennon' which launched earlier this month. The lyrics date from 1966, an ьber productive era for Lennon when he wrote numerous songs for 'Revolver' and the 'Strawberry Fields Forever' single. Sample lyrics include: “Little girl I’ve come to stay and: “If she turns you down and you’re rejected Julian Lennon says he would consider putting music to these words, explaining: “If the time was right, if it felt right, then I would consider looking at the lyrics and maybe trying to work with them and write something. But obviously only in honour of Dad. I guess in some respect it would be like coming home.” 'White Feather: The Spirit of Lennon' was collated by Julian and his first wife Cynthia in partnership with the Beatles Story and features never-seen-before photos and filmed interviews.
