John Lennon Early Years Film Ready For ProductionAugust 29, 2008
A film about the early years of former Beatle John Lennon is ready to go into production, according to a Film industry publication.
Artist Sam Taylor-Wood will direct 'Nowhere Boy', while Matt Greenhalgh, who wrote the Ian Curtis movie Control, has signed up to write the screenplay. The film will focus on the influence that Lennon's mother and aunt had on his young career, and will be shot in his hometown of Liverpool. "I knew as I closed the final page that this was the film I had been looking to direct,” Taylor-Wood told Screen Daily Magazine. "The story spoke to me on so many levels - both personal and artistic. The women in John's early life truly shaped who he became, and the strengths and weaknesses of their relationships are central to this film." At present, it's not clear when the movie will be released. (by Jason Gregory) See also: Yoko Ono: John Lennon Would Have Loved Lady Gaga (28.12.2010)
