Jay-Z Performs With U2 At Brandenburg GateNovember 6, 2009
U2 were joined by Jay-Z during their historic show at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin last night.
Two songs into the Irish group's short set, Bono announced the arrival of “the Mayor of New York city” as Jay-Z appeared on stage. The Jigga Man then rapped over a rousing rendition of U2's 1983 protest anthem 'Sunday Bloody Sunday'. Jay-Z stayed on stage as U2 performed a short version of Bob Marley's 'Get Up Stand Up', before launching into 'Beautiful Day' together. Bono told the 10,000 strong crowd: "I just want to think about this moment – feel this moment that was here in this beautiful city of Berlin" The show, part of the MTV Europe Music Awards celebrations, was held to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
