Jay-Z Tells Kanye West To Remove Auto-Tune From 'Blueprint 3' AlbumMay 27, 2009
Jay-Z told Kanye West to remove all traces of auto-tune from his new album, 'Blueprint 3', it has emerged.
West, who produced the record, told MTV Jay-Z wanted the album to be “an anti auto-tune” release. The recording aid, which West used on his latest album '808s and Heartbreak', automatically corrects a singer's voice if they hit a wrong note. "It doesn't matter to me," West said about Jay-Z's decision. "It's music; it's just sonics. “I like Auto-Tune so I do it, but you want the other thing — like you'll wear a suit to a wedding and gym shoes to a basketball game. “I think it's a perfect moment for Jay to provide some gym shoes to a basketball game right now." 'Blueprint 3' was expected to be released late last year, but West said Jay-Z wanted to take his time with the release. “He's just been working on it, and it's gonna be amazing when he drops it,” the rapper said. The album will complete Jay-Z's Blueprint trilogy, which began with the release of 'The Blueprint' in 2001.
