I Am Arrows Cover Tears For Fears At Secret London Gig

August 25, 2010
I Am Arrows Cover Tears For Fears At Secret London GigI Am Arrows covered a Tears For Fears song as they played a surprise gig in London last night (August 24).

The band, fronted by former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows, performed to a crowd of around 50 family and friends at The Stag in North London.

Their five-song set, which included four songs from their debut album ‘Sun Comes Up Again’, was also watched by Editors frontman Tom Smith.

Kicking off with album opener ‘Nun’, Burrows joked that the impromptu show was a delayed launch party for their debut album, which was released last week.

The singer and his band remained in high spirits throughout the short set - at one point responding to an audience member’s song request and bursting into a sporadic cover of ‘Eye Of The Tiger’.

After performing album track ‘Another Picture Of You’ and next single ‘Hurricane’, I Am Arrows then covered Tears For Fears’ classic ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’.

“This is a song by Tears For Fears and we’re bound to **** it up, but it’s not our song,“ Burrows said.

“We’re missing the guy that does the most bits,” he added, referring to guitarist Adam Chetwood, who became a father two days ago.

After thanking the venue’s staff, I Am Arrows concluded their set with recent single ‘Green Grass’.

I Am Arrows played:

  1. Nun
  2. Another Picture Of You
  3. Hurricane
  4. Everybody Wants To Rule The World
  5. Green Grass
