Police Forced To Control Crowds At No Doubt ConcertMay 20, 2009
Police were called to the set of The Ellen Degeneres Show on Monday, when No Doubt fans caused chaos after they were turned away from seeing the band perform.
The band played an open-air gig for Ellen's Backlot Bash in Burbank, California, and many of their loyal fans waited for more than seven hours in the sweltering heat to see their idols. But, despite having reserved tickets, around 500 devotees were refused entry to the outside recording - and cops were called in to control the angry crowds. One fan told Perez Hilton, "At 4:15pm an Ellen rep with tons of police came out to say they had underestimated how many people could fit in the venue and (told us to) go home." And the lucky few who were allowed to see the show complained of torturous conditions - with two girls passing out due to the soaring temperatures. Another fan adds, "My nose started bleeding and no one even bothered to see if I was OK. The security guy just gave me a napkin. Two other girls fainted because of the heat."
