Hayley Williams: Paramore's 'Brand New Eyes' Was About Josh FarroJanuary 6, 2011
Hayley Williams has revealed that most of the songs on the band's last album 'Brand New Eyes' were about her relationship with former bandmate Josh Farro.
The guitarist quit the group along with his brother last month, and confirmed in a statement the long-standing rumours that he had once dated Williams. Responding to Farro's claim in an interview with MTV News, Williams revealed that she had documented their relationship on their 2009 album. “I would say that a large majority of those songs, yes, have to do with the relationship we had and then that we had to mend," she said. "And it was really hard, because we were all friends, and then going through a breakup and going through any kind of tension as a band really affected all the lyrics. “There are a lot of specifics that I pulled from my experience with just feeling like my face was underneath a boot all the time.” Williams went on to add that she hoped the songs could help other women who find themselves in similar situations.
