Slipknot's Joey Jordison Crowned Best DrummerAugust 31, 2010
Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison has been crowned the best drummer of the past 25 years.
Jordison topped the Rhythm magazine poll ahead of Mike Portnoy of US prog-metal band Dream Theater. Gavin Harrison of Hemel Hempstead band Porcupine Tree was in third position. Former Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Phil Collins also featured. Jordison said he was “at a loss for words” to learn that he had come top. "This is beyond unbelievable. Something like this reminds me every day why I continue to do this," he added. Meanwhile, Slipknot are currently on hiatus following the death of bassist Paul Gray earlier this year.
