Slash And Motorhead's Lemmy Statue Bid RejectedJanuary 19, 2011
A proposal to erect statues of former Guns N Roses' guitarist Slash and Motorhead's Lemmy has been rejected.
A petition, signed by over 318 people last month, to build two statues of the Stoke-on-Trent musicians has been turned down by the local council, thisisstaffordshire.co.uk reports. "I think this idea is a complete waste of time and effort, and the petition was the wrong way for this to be brought to us," Labour councillor Matt Wilcox said. He added: "It's actually quite selfish to focus on these two specific artists and I think there should be a more diverse monument to the range of that this city has produced."
