Athlete 'Do A Radiohead' By Donating Song Proceeds To The British LegionOctober 12, 2009
Athlete are following in Radiohead's footsteps by donating proceeds from their new single to the Royal British Legion.
The English indie-rock outfit's single 'Black Swan Song' was written in tribute to singer Joel Pott's grandfather Major John Pott who served in World War II and was awarded a military cross. As well as the single profits, Athlete will also be singing the track at an Armistice Day event in London on November 11. Radiohead, of course, recorded a song in honour of the last British World War I Tommy called 'Harry Patch (In Memory Of)' which they released as a download and donated all proceeds to the British Legion.
