Kings Of Leon Slam Arcade FireOctober 22, 2010
Kings Of Leon appear to have poked fun at bands like Arcade Fire in a new magazine interview.
Drummer Nathan Followill criticised bands that have multiple members who don’t all contribute musically. Although he didn’t mention Arcade Fire, who have up to nine members live, he did appear to describe multi-instrumentalist Richard Reed Parry in his criticism. “Now it’s cool to have 14 people in your band doing everything but contributing musically, running around with a helmet on your head, hitting it with a drumstick,” Followill said. “You gotta look at what you’re in this for: the love of music? The fame? You can have all that if you’re smart and play your cards right and don’t become a d*ck.” Excerts from Kings Of Leon’s interview with SPIN magazine have been serialised by The Salt Lake Tribute. Kings Of Leon are on course to top the UK album chart this weekend with their latest effort ‘Come Around Sundown’.
