Win Butler Casts Doubt Over Arcade Fire FutureSeptember 17, 2010
Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler has cast doubt over the band’s long-term future.
In an interview with Spin magazine, the singer said he couldn’t imagine “doing this” in a decade’s time. “We’ve been a band now as long as the Beatles, and pop music is a young man’s game,” he told the magazine’s October issue. The singer's comments come just a month after Arcade Fire’s third album ‘The Suburbs’ topped the UK and US album charts. Their previous efforts - 2004’s ‘Funeral’ and 2007’s ‘Neon Bible’ - charted at number 33 and number two in the UK. The Montreal-based band are set to embark on a UK arena tour in the winter.
